Imagine the saltiest food you can – belly lox is saltier. And, it's THE BOMB. Cut from the belly of large Norwegian salmon, belly lox is salt-cured and not smoked. Some might call it assertively salty. Others might go so far as to call it aggressively salty. At Shelsky's, we think it is old-school, hard-core, New York Jewish food. A couple of thin slices on a super well-toasted bialy with some scallion cream cheese and tomato – heaven, baby. Fatty, salty, fishy heaven.
